The mirror
This is a important lesson!!!!
I walked through the gates to the school and instantly everyone went silent. I was the best and I knew it everyone knew it. I was everything everyone wanted to be pretty, smart, popular and rich. There was one problem though, I didn’t have many pets- only 1 cat, 4 horses, 9 goldfish 3 dogs 2 hamsters and 7 or 8 mice.
“H-h-hi Rosie..er um well M-M-Mr J-Jinking wants to see you” A girl stuttered-properly because she had never seen or spoken to someone as special as moi.
“Ok” I gave her my best smile and flick of my long blonde hair and walked in to the heads office.
He was sitting there with a very stern look on his face. He was also extremely old so I think he should have retired by now, plus he really needed to update his look.
“Well?” I asked crossing my arms and leaning against the door.
“I think you know why you’re here miss cotton.”
I stared at him blankly. I had been here several times before but always for a different reason. What would it be this time homework uniform?
“A student that I will not name has complained about you being mean.” Mr Jinking sighed.
I raised my eyebrows “Really! I doubt that’s true. No one complains about me I’m their hero!”
“ Well if that’s true then…….”
He started to give me a long lecture in which I tuned out and started to think about what I would during the summer holidays-They would start when school finishes. Anyway 6 whole weeks of relaxing and hanging out with my mates….luxury.
“Rosie? ROSIE did you listen to anything I have just said? Well?”
“Yes Sir. Sorry sir” honestly it was always the same: get sent to the head get lectured say sorry be late for lesson blah blah blah.
“ I hope you mean it and change your ways” he said with a shake of his head.
I walked out the door.
“ How was it?” my best friend Lizzie questioned.
“ Oh, same old same old” I rolled my perfect eyes.
We walked down the corridor. “ What have we got next? Maths isn’t it? Yes it is. Come on room 064” I followed her and bumped in to Miss Penistone.
“ Why aren’t you in class? Hmmm I’m waiting for a answer,”
“We went to see the head Miss,” I answered.
Maths went on and on and never seemed to end-what lesson didn’t? I mean I don’t need half the subjects I learn like science or geography and art stuff like that.
“ Now remember class revise you’ve got test next term. The class groaned. BORING. Come on the holidays are not for work. Are they? NO!!! School is! I mean school: Work work work but holidays: FUN FUN FUN
I wandered along the corridor to my locker. I grabbed my silk blue bag that really needed updating dumped my school books in it and slung it over my shoulder.
“ Bye then!”
“ we must meet up”
“See you soon”
The hall was filled with goodbyes and meeting arrangements. I went to the door and pushed it open a HUGE gust of wind blew my hair everywhere. I sighed and walked down the hill.
To get home I had to walk through the town. There was a shop I had never noticed before which was surprising since it sold only mirrors. Mirrors are life savers without it how would I see my perfect face every morning? I pushed the door open and I saw hundreds of mirrors all different shapes and sizes but only one caught my eye it was an oval and plain silver. I brought it since I only had 3 in my room already. I was shocked at the price- only £350!
“ Hello dear what have you got in that bag?” A little old lady asked. She wore a grey shawl and a black skirt and top. Why was she in a mirror shop? If I was her I would never want to see myself.
“ A mirror,” I shrugged.
“ Let me see,” she said with a mean smile. I frowned but opened the box anyway.
“ Gorgeous now…… Gegolootena,” she laughed.
Just as I was about to ask what was meant to happen when I felt a weird sensation and suddenly I was in the mirror!
Gone was my perfect body replaced with the old ladies reflection.
“ You shall await the day James Night looks in this mirror! He is the only one who can save you now so mend your ways,” I tried to say I would but then I remembered I was a reflection a use less reflection.

“ Hello” A tall boy with jet-black hair said to the man at the counter. He wore washed out jeans and a old T-shirt.
“ I‘m looking for an oval mirror that is plain silver?”
“Down the corridor and to the left,” The counter man grunted.
The boy followed his instructions and came to stand in front of me.
“ Rosie Cotton? I’m here to free you but you must promise to never be mean or vain again. You are very full of yourself- too full of yourself. I was sent here by my great granny the person who trapped you here so…..hasainlolotomo,”
Suddenly I was free!
“ Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!” I gushed.
I WAS FREE!!!
