Werewolves and Vampires: Friends or Foes?
This story is all lovey-dovey with a little weirdness thrown in. It's kinda long! It is told from Jake the Werewolve's point of view.
It's not everyday you turn into a werewolf. It happened to me last year. This is how...
Me, Jim and Al were playing football in the park, then - I think on purpose - Jim kicked it into the Woods. So, trying not to show how annoyed I was at this, I followed it to a prickly bush. I reached down to grab it but something got hold of my arm! I tried to shake it off. After much shaking and bleeding, I pulled away. What was it that had bitten me? Raw red bite marks ran up and down my arm like train tracks.I gave the bush a huge kick. Scaring the livng daylights out of me, it let out a howl of pain. I retreated, unfortunately, right into Jim, who had chased after me once he'd heard my shouts. He eyed my arm, his eyes like saucers. "Did you get it, Jake?" He muttered, lifting his weird bug-like gaze up slightly. "What? The ball? No. But I did get this great gaping bite in my arm, thanks for asking..." I snapped back, examining it in horror. A MONTH LATER... 9th of March, should've been a great day. But no! I was in history when 'it' happened. I was sat at my desk, minding my own buisness, when I felt this odd itching on my arm. I stared down. My arm was covered in thick fur. Then I felt a pang of pain in my canines. My shoes felt too tight. My hair was too long. My height was all messed up! "AAAAAAOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHH!" Something cried. I glanced round at my class. They goggled back with looks that ranged from horrified to slightly curious. "AAAAAAAAAOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHH!" It came again. I looked down again. I was covered in fur, my teeth were long and pointy, I had a tail... That noise had come from me. I was a wolf! Or a very large dog - you can never tell, these days. I just needed to promise my doggy self not to ram my nose up any other dog's bum. "Cynthia?" I tried to say, turning towards my crush, Jim's girlfriend and the prettiest girl in the whole year, school, world, universe! But it only came out as a low growl. Embarrassed and slightly hyper, I leapt out of the window, leaving a trail of broken glass and fur in my wake. I have to find that bush, I have to find that bush! I thought over and over, until I did. But this time, I wasn't alone. A silver grey wolf and a larger, more muscular one stood side by side. I ducked just as one of them turned his overly scarred face in my direction. "Jake..." I heard one of them mutter, then it let out a long howl. |
Suddenly, a whole pack of wolves was gathered in a circle, their heads bowed to the white howler wolf, the Alpha male, I'm guessing. "Tonight! We have what we need. The one-hundreth Werewolf!" Either out of fear or loyalty, the pack barked in happiness. "He is actually right here, among us," He faced towards my bush. "Jake. We see you," He growled unceremoniously. Scared and shaking, I got to my feet. "Hi," I muttered. They all turned away, the excitement over. Then an eerie silence fell. "Tonight!" Alpha repeated, "We will declare war on the Vampires, who have slain our kind for centuries! We will set out as soon as the clock strikes midnight. Then, right on cue, the old clock tower in the middle of town started to chime... One...Two...Three... All the wolves had their hackles raised. Four...Five....Six... They all started growling, feeling it was the right thing to do, I copied. Seven...Eight...Nine...Ten Some pawed the ground and shifted in anticipation. Eleven...TWELVE!!! All the werewolves except for me darted off. I watched after them, until they disapeared over the horizon. Then, my ears pricked. I heard... sobbing? I peeked around the bush to find... What? No. It couldn't be. "Cynthia?" I asked, glad to realise my voice was back to normal. "Jake?" Cynthia responded, sitting up. Suddenly she winced, and was forced to lay back down again. "Oh my gosh, Cynthia. How did this happen?" I wondered aloud. Feeling quite sick as the pool of blood seeping from under Cynthia grew larger. "The werewolves; they did this." She spluttered. "What can I do?" "Werewolves can live for centuries, you know," She whimperd weakly, completely off the point. Not understanding, I watched as her eyes slowly closed. "DON'T DIE!" I shouted pathetically. Then it dawned on me. I did the only thing left to do. I bit her. I waited ten long seconds. To my releif she coughed and managed to stand up, a big wolf grin plastered on her furry face. "Thank you, Jake, I thought I'd never see my 1600th birthday." "You what?" "Oh, did I forget to tell you? I'm a vampire." By Mad and Immy |
